As yesterday's defenders of freedom, we want to welcome today's military service members into our ranks to become part of our elite group.  The Benton, IL. American Legion Post 280 and VFW Post 2671 is a combined Post where veterans who served honorably, during all eras, can join with their brothers and sisters in arms to strengthen our community. Regardless if you served during times of peace or war, overseas or abroad, we have a place for you. Every Wednesday at 7:30 is our queen of hearts drawing and Trivia. Thursday night free Bingo and wings. Many other events coming and going be sure to follow us on Facebook and stop in and see us. Thank you for all of your support for local veterans and their families. Without you we could not do what do.

That the purpose of this Corporation shall be fraternal, patriotic, historical, charitable, and educational: to preserve and strengthen comradeship among its members; to assist worthy comrades; to perpetuate the memory and history of our dead; and to assist their widows and orphans; to maintain true allegiance to the Government of the United States of America, and fidelity to its Constitution and laws; to foster true patriotism; to maintain and extend the institutions of American freedom, and to preserve and defend the United States from all her enemies.
